A 24 hour Wedding Arranged by Nudo

Planning a wedding often takes months, if not years, right? Jacklyn & Chris had been planning their big day for over a year, ready to get hitched on October 29, 2021. Lockdowns and restrictions lingering throughout Victoria meant that the love birds opted for an intimate ceremony and lunch with their nearest and dearest in Phillip Island. However, large scale storms and wild weather on the day had other plans, and threw this celebration into a spin.

With their well overdue nuptials postponed to January 6, 2022, the couple eagerly awaited for the day they’d be able to dance the night away with their most beloved friends and family from all over Victoria.

January rolled around and with just one day to go, and guests arriving from all over the state, Jacklyn was met with the news that her wedding had to be cancelled after a mass Covid outbreak at the wedding venue, impacting not one, but all of the team members. Now Jacklyn and Chris were left with not just the emotional impact of having their wedding affected again, but having to notify all of their guests and suppliers at such short notice that it was no longer going ahead. Or so they thought!

It was as though the stars had aligned when the couple reached out to Rich Will from Hey Jack, a popular entertainment, photography and videography company, ready to give him the dreaded news. Rich is heavily involved in the wedding industry and knew just the person who would make this wedding happen with just 24 hours notice.

Rich informed Kim of the situation and in minutes, Kim was on the phone ready to bring Jacklyn & Chris’ wedding vision to life with the help of a few amazing suppliers. Kim’s thoughts? “If any venue was going to get this done, it was us!”

With the help of Fourside Events working tirelessly through the night to organise food and beverages for 80 guests, as well as other vendors tweaking their plans to accommodate the new venue – Gather & Tailor in West Melbourne – the wedding was pulled off without a hitch! And when we say without a hitch, we mean it looked like it had been carefully curated by a team of specialists over the course of a year.
