If you were stranded on a desert island and could only get delivery from one restaurant, which restaurant would it be and why?
The B.East in Brunswick without a doubt. Amazing vegan burgers and takeaway craft beer. If I had access to that, I wouldn’t even call that being stranded… actually, can I do that now please?

Do you have any human or fur kids?
I have a cat named Lily. We got her from the RSPCA in 2019 and she was my birthday present. She is 10/10 for looks and cuteness. But she does very little around the house and has a sixth sense for the things you want to keep nice and clean, and then sleeps on them. 2/10, needs improvement.

Where are you coming from?
I used to run my own design studio and have spent most of my career in the world of brand, design, art direction, and creative direction. I was a wedding photographer for a few years in Brisbane which was a lot of fun, but was sucked into the world of startups (thanks to my business partner Paul!) and once I truly realised the power of the startup philosophy for business and the ability to make real impact, I never looked back!

Fun-Facts?
Fun fact 01:
I once crashed a motorbike whilst riding through the mountains in Vietnam and had to ride 3 hours to a hospital on a mangled bike with my face smashed open. The worst bit was they used out of date anaesthetic to do the stitches and so I had full feeling when they did them. Screamed the whole time and when they finished I sat up and there was a little kid staring at me absolutely terrified.

Fun fact 02: I lived at The Wool Mill for 9 months whilst we did the renovations. I had driven down from Brisbane and didn’t have a place to live yet. To save money (startup life) and considering I was already at The Wool Mill everyday, I ended up sleeping on a blow up mattress in what is now the couples suite! The place is actually pretty spooky at night time when you’re on your own!

Favourite TV show / movie?
Manhunt; Unabomber with Sam Worthington is probably my favourite tv show. If you’ve not seen it, I am genuinely jealous you get to watch it from scratch! The birth of forensic linguistics!

Hobbies?
I enjoy woodworking and making furniture (I did a class at The Shed in Abbotsford which I highly recommend) and will start a furniture business at some stage in my career. My pride and joy is my motorbike. Loving the journey of modifying and tweaking it to get it just the way I want it – then going for a spin in the sunshine!

If you could have lunch with any person from the past, who would you choose?
Richard Feynman. Physicist who theorised quantum mechanics. Yes, I’m sad and love physics and space, but moreso, Richard was an incredible teacher, had the most fascinating way of looking at the world, and loved to party and play music. We’d go to a pub and have a pint. I’d be happy to pay.

What was the first concert you ever attended?
Sum41 in Manchester. Loved it. My music taste has improved slightly since then.

If you were being introduced at a conference, what would your walk out music be?
Song2 – Blur.

How did you first learn of Nudo?
I think I read about it in “Fast Company” or something 😏
